Fans at recent R. Kelly show in Louisiana were upset when they heard that the performer they paid to see was not the real Kellz. It turns out the man they saw was the actual R&B singer according to Kelly’s rep.
Attendees at the event began demanding refunds complaining that the show started late and alleging they were tricked by a R. Kelly look-a-like who apparently barely performed. A local news affiliate KNOE reported that the party’s promoter, Cedric Johnson, sent a text to the station claiming that he was “duped” by an imposter and would refund all payments to purchasers. Johnson later claimed the he did not send the text and rescinded the offer to give any money back.
According to NME, a spokesperson confirmed that R. Kelly was in attendance at the All Black Attire Party on Saturday. The rep says that Kelly was booked for an appearance at the event and not a full concert. Some fans contested that a live concert featuring Kelly was advertised. Promoters deny that was the case.

Rap star Kanye West recently discussed what's up with him and pop singer Miley Cyrus and if fans should keep holding their breath for a long-awaited follow-up to 2011's Watch the Throne.
While he would not dig into what they allegedly have stirring up,Kanye revealed his relationship to America's number one tweakier.
"I just met her the day of the VMAs," Kanye said, referring to Miley. "I was just like, 'Go, just go. Go for it. Do what you feel.' From the DONDA perspective, I'd want her to twerk more. I think the whole performance should have been twerking." (97.1 Amp Radio)Yeezus also briefly touched on if he is going to hook up with Jay Zfor their rumored Watch the Throne 2 project.
"It could be a possibility. It's not my focus in all honesty. Music is not my focus," Kanye admitted. "I'll make music. I'm not going to stop producing, need to do more... I'm focused on getting this backing [for DONDA]. I care about this far more than making a Watch the Throne 2." (97.1 Amp Radio)After rumors of Miley and Kanye putting in some behind-the-scenes work in the studio following this year's Video Music Awards, Cyrus recently made sure to shout-out Mr. West for having her back in an interview.
"The support of other artists is important because there are not many people who can relate to what I'm going through right now. Kanye West is one of those people, and even Katy Perry has been so cool. It's easy for Kanye to support me because we're in totally separate lanes of competition, but for Katy to say that she appreciates what I'm really doing for the pop industry, that keeps you going. And I mean, who cares what the media buzz is if Kanye West is telling you that you're the sh*t?" (Cosmopolitan)Discussing the platinum-selling Watch the Throne album over the summer, Jay said respect and admiration for Kanye has helped their in-studio chemistry.
"It actually was really easy because of the relationship. It's always been a big brother thing and a respect thing. It's always a good experience but he's gonna challenge everything because he's really trying to test it and poke holes to make sure that it stands up to the test, which is good. I admire that. It kind of works for me." (BBC Radio 1)
Former boxing champion Mike Tyson has weighed in on the controversy Chris Brown has sparked after finding himself behind bars over the weekend from an alleged assault.
Despite Chris' fame and popularity, Tyson said he is concerned for the singer's overall well-being.
Mike Tyson is worried about Chris Brown ... he thinks the pop star is too violent ... and if he doesn't cut the crap, CB is going to pay a very serious price. Tyson was a guest on the 95.5 PLJ Morning Show this morning ... when the gang asked if Mike, who's battled anger issues in the past, had any advice for Chris -- and Tyson delivered. "I like and admire that little guy," Tyson said ... adding, "I'm just worried about him." Tyson says he knows from experience that if Chris doesn't learn to control his rage issues, people will turn on him -- and "they're gonna put him somewhere where that's all they do is assault people." We're guessing he means prison. You gotta listen to the interview, it's incredible -- and Tyson ends with this gem: "Chris should know this ... if you're not humble in this world, this world will dress humbleness upon you." (TMZ)According to reports, Chris Breezy left jail Monday (October 28) and also had his charge reduced to a misdemeanor.
The charges against singer Chris Brown and his bodyguard stemming from a weekend fight were reduced to simple assault misdemeanors Monday. The two men, who had spent the previous 36 hours in a Washington jail, entered a packed courtroom in leg irons and handcuffs, but at the end they were unshackled and released without bail Monday afternoon. Brown, 24, was ordered to report to his California probation officer within 48 hours and to stay at least 100 yards away from the man he is accused of assaulting early Sunday. Both men must return to court on November 24. (CNN)Despite the serious accusations, the singer's attorney said Breezy did nothing wrong.
"Christopher Brown committed no crime," his attorney Danny Onorato told reporters after the hearing. "We understand that his security acted to protect Mr. Brown and his property, as he is authorized to do under District of Columbia law. We are confident that Mr. Brown will be exonerated of any wrongdoing." (CNN)Prior to appearing in court, R&B singer Trey Songz displayed his support for Brown in Washington, DC.
Chris Brown's legal woes continued to escalate after the singer was arrested after an altercation reportedly broke out in Washington D.C. this past weekend. The singer and his bodyguard were allegedly arrested on assault Sunday morning. Brown is expected to be in court this afternoon. His mother and singer Trey Songz were spotted entering the D.C. courthouse to support him during his arraignment. (VIBE)
A day after Eminem and Rihanna's "Monster" anthem premiered online, the person responsible for Slim Shady's latest Marshall Mathers LP 2 record has surfaced.
Twenty-two-year-old singer Jon Bellion revealed putting the record together at mega producer Just Blaze's frequent studio spot Stadium Red earlier this year.
Bellion's session wasn't with Blaze though; instead he was called to work on music with producers Frequency, Alias and their artist Bebe Rexha. The session started with Bellion playing some of his solo songs (he's managed by Visionary Music Group, the same outfit who signed Def Jam rapper Logic to his first deal), but quickly turned as he started coming up with a song for Rexha to record. "Fast forward dude plays keys, hopped on the keys, started playing chords and I'm literally like, 'I'm friends with the monster,'" Bellion said singing the words that Rihanna would eventually sing. "I just mumbled it." (MTV)According to Bellion, Atlantic Records reached out in hopes of snatching the track.
Once the song was recorded Frequency suggested that they offer the track up to Shady Records, where he had a connection producing for Slaughterhouse. "We were all like, 'Yeah that'll be crazy. That will be so dope if that happened,'" Bellion said, recalling the pie in the sky proposal. "I come back four days later to the studio and he's like, 'Yo, Atlantic wants the record, Shady wants the record, everybody wants the joint.'" The creation team eventually decided to go with Eminem. Though other artists had guaranteed to make the song a single out of the gate, the Shady team made no such promises. "Eminem was the biggest risk," he said. "But we were like, 'It's the biggest payoff if he takes it.'" (MTV)A week away from Em's album hitting store shelves, the new trackpremiered online yesterday (October 28).
Eminem and Rihanna topped the charts for seven weeks with their 2010 smash "Love the Way You Lie." Just in time for Halloween, the dynamic duo reunites for "The Monster," the haunting new single off Eminem's upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2, due November 5. "I'm friends with the monster that's under my bed/ Get along with the voices inside of my head/ Keep tryin' to save me/ Stop holding your breath/ And you think I'm crazy/ Well that's not fair," sings RiRi. In addition to Rihanna, MMLP2 also features Kendrick Lamar, Skylar Grey, and fun.'s Nate Ruess, with executive producers Dr. Dre and Rick Rubin. The deluxe adds five songs including collaborations with Sia and Jaime N Commons. (Rap-Up)Based on an excerpt from his upcoming Rolling Stone feature, Slim Shady details how determined he is with his latest solo offering.
"Right now, I'm probably working harder than I've ever worked in my life," says a sleep-deprived Eminem, gulping diet Red Bull in his suburban Detroit studio. He's well past deadline ("They keep telling me a different day," he says) on his new album, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 - out November 5th - and the final mixes still aren't quite done. "Aside from around the time of The Eminem Show, when I was also doing the 8 Mile movie and soundtrack and score and sh*t like that. This is probably the equivalent of that, but all focused on the record." (Rolling Stone)
With the hip-hop world still adjusting to the news of rapper Future proposing to R&B girlfriendCiara, a new up-close look at the engagement ring has surfaced online.
According to reports, jewelry designer company Avianne & Co'sresponsible for the 15-carat eye candy.
Kim Kardashian isn't the only A-lister with a 15-carat diamond engagement ring! The reality star's BFF Ciara has one, too, courtesy of rapper/producer Future. E! News has the exclusive first look at the singer's bling, which she received this weekend while celebrating her 28th birthday in New York City. "The ring, which doubled as a special birthday gift, is a beautiful 15-carat emerald cut diamond designed by Avianne & Co," Ciara's rep says. This will be the first marriage for both Ciara and Future, who began dating a year ago. The couple confirmed their courtship in January, and by springtime, the musicians got each other's initials tattooed on their ring fingers. (E! Online)According to reports, Future popped the big question and sealed the deal with the 15-carat diamond ring a few days ago.
R&B singer Ciara is engaged to her rapper beau Future. The couple's publicist has confirmed that the hip-hop star proposed to the Goodies hitmaker over the weekend with a 15-carat diamond ring. The proposal took place in New York as the pair was out celebrating Ciara's 28th birthday. The usually-private star went public with her romance earlier this year, and revealed she was keen to settle down with the rapper. She said, "I'm happy. I'm with somebody that makes me feel very comfortable in this setting. He's my best friend, so we talk about a lot of stuff. At the right time, I'm looking forward to (having a family). (Toronto Sun)Buzz behind CiCi possibly expecting a child in the near future with the rapper bubbled online earlier this month.
Ciara has made no secret of her love for boo Future. Now the power couple has sparked pregnancy rumors after Cici's latest performance, but they aren't the first celebrity couple to fall victim to this. The YBF reports that the pregnancy speculations stem from Ciara looking a bit thicker after the 9th Annual Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards at Marquee in NYC. Ciara herself posted an Instagram photo of her look, which included a baggy, leather Anthony Vaccarello top. The YBF doesn't believe the rumors and points that the singer's outfit and pose may have inspired the pregnancy talk in the first place. (RapFix)Reports also claimed Ciara's style team have been making attempts to cover her stomach.
Paper magazine held a party at NYC's Marque nightclub on Thursday evening (Oct. 17). The major rumor behind-the-scenes during the event was that Ciara is indeed pregnant. This according to her style team... members attempted to dress Ciara in a way that would "hide" her growing baby bump. I don't know about this one guys. I'll have to see it to believe it. (Breathe Cast)Over the spring, CiCi suggested her past woes in high-profile relationships were a distant memorywith Future in her life.
"I'm happy. I'm with somebody that makes me feel very comfortable in this setting," she gushed. The decision to reveal more about her personal life was one that took time. "It's just a whole new thing that's happened within myself internally that's kinda inspired me to do things differently," she said. "I've been able to learn a lot over the past years of my life. I've tried things many different ways. I'm now in a place in my life where I'm so much more comfortable than I've ever been in my skin. I've learned that you gotta live your life for you. People are gonna have something to say no matter which way you do it." (Rap-Up)
The man who use to describe himself as the “Louis Vuitton Don” says he no longer has any interest in being associated with the luxury brand. While speaking at Power 106′s Big Boy Neighborhood, Kanye West further expounds on his issues with high fashion including why he will not work for LV again.
“If I had the opportunity to design for Louis Vuitton now I wouldn’t, because the prices are just too extreme,” said Kanye. “I don’t want to use my message to have kids saving up that much to be a part of what the ideas are. That’s the problem to me with luxury.”
Kanye has expressed in the past his desire to break into fashion as a serious designer, but according to the Chicago artist he cannot get the backing from industry insiders to make it happen. He claims once that does occur he will be the GOAT of fashion like he considers 2Pac the GOAT of Hip Hop.
“I would say more like Tupac is the best rapper of all time. I tell you one thing in clothing, as soon as I get it, I’m going to be Tupac of this. I will be Tupac of this,” said Ye.
